The Independence Chapter of The Association of Legal Administrators
Helping Improve Law Firm Management throughout Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
The Association of Legal Administrators was formed in 1971 to provide support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies. By June 1971, 100 legal administrators had joined the association. In 2006, ALA celebrated its 35th Anniversary at the 2006 Annual Conference in Montréal.
Today, ALA provides educational opportunities and services to over 10,000 members in more than 28 countries with members from private law offices, corporate, government, public interest firms, colleges, bar executives and more. ALA is structured into six regions with a total of 120 chapters.
ALA offers many opportunities: Annual Educational Conference and Exposition; Regional Conference; Retreats & Specialized Programs; ALA’s telephone seminars; ALA's Learning On Demand Program; The CLM (Certified Legal Manager) Program; ALA Management Solutions; ALA’s nationwide job bank program; ALA Management Connections; and the Value in Partnership (VIP) Program.
The Independence Chapter currently has a membership of more than 90 members, including representatives from firms with various size practices, covering a significant part of the suburban counties outside of Philadelphia. We continue to provide chapter newsletters, monthly brown bag meetings, an annual vendor expo, and much more in our ongoing efforts to offer the highest caliber of information and education to our membership.
Our chapter has a growing membership of over 90 law firm administrators/office managers from Bucks County, Chester County, Delaware County, Lehigh County, and Montgomery County.
The mission of the Association of Legal Administrators is to promote and enhance the competence and professionalism of all members of the legal management team, improve the quality of management in law firms and other legal service organizations, and represent professional legal management and managers to the legal community and to the community at large. Won’t you join us in accomplishing these goals?
